For many veterans returning home from war, pas returned to civilian life can be the most difficult adjustment.
Sergeant David Wright served in Iraq from 2000 to 2004. When he returned he realized things were just not the same. He came to the clinic of Polytrauma in 2005 and has not left since.
“I’ve had ups and downs with my life because I have been dealing with PTSD” says Wright.
Polytrauma clinic is part of the Omaha’s VA Medical Center and help veterans and their families dealing with traumatic injuries are physically and mentally. Heather Bojanski, social workers say the facility is a one-stop shop.
“You can have someone in the unit you are sitting next to You in the waiting room and they don’t know if you see your primary care or look at mental health.”
